Clatford School Siams
Its official! Clatford CE Primary School is ‘Excellent’ in all aspects of its work. We are the first school in Hampshire to receive this accolade. The school received its Church (SIAMS) inspection in February. This inspection looked at the impact of our School Values and the contribution collective worship and RE makes to the lives and attainment of the children and adults in our school community. The Inspector found that ‘the senior leaders of Clatford CE Primary School are forward looking in their approach and this has resulted in an excellent school where adults and children alike strive to be the very best they can be in all that they undertake’.
The school underwent a rigorous process. The inspector observed the teachers teaching RE as well as looking at all the children’s books. They spoke to groups of children about the impact of our values on their lives and what role collective worship plays. In addition they came into collective worship, went out to play and had dinner with the children. They interviewed the Governors of the school and spoke to me. It was a very intensive and busy day.
The Inspector identified many strengths of the school. She felt that ‘the superb commitment to continuous improvement, enable all within the schools distinctive Christian community to flourish’. She felt that relationships were exceptionally strong and attributed by all to the schools values and quality of teaching. The Inspector went on to say that this leads to an admirable ethos which has a profound impact on behaviour and positive attitudes to learning.
As Headteacher it is a real pleasure to lead such an excellent and outstanding team of dedicated staff and children who have such a love of learning. The care and trust forms the heart of school life. I am delighted that SIAMS found that the children’s spiritual development is exceptionally well promoted and that the children achieve outstandingly well. All of those involved work tirelessly to provide high quality memorable activities that captures every Childs imagination. I am privileged to work in such a lovely school where laughter and smiles are an everyday occurrence. The SIAMS Inspector captured the very essence of the school when she said ‘this is a school where children, staff and parents speak about being cared for, supported and valued’. I like to think that every child matters and everyone is valued within our Clatford Family.
