Year 3 explore Fishbourne Roman Palace
On Thursday 7th June, Year 3 became experimental archaeologists for the day and went to explore Fishbourne Roman Palace in Chichester.
This is what they had to say:
"We had so so so much fun."
"Firstly, we went to a workshop and I made a mosaic, wrote my name, surname and age in ink in Latin. I also played a game where you need to get the ball in the pot. I learnt in the workshop that children were sold to grown ups to be slaves."
"The mosaics were so interesting but the best one was the dolphin mosaic because it had lots of different things on it like: leaves, a dragon, a trophy and a man riding a dolphin. The gods put mistakes in to show that everyone is not perfect."
"We saw the hypocaust which is underfloor heating. After we saw lots of mosaics, we went into the garden and laid down on the Triclineum which is where the Romans ate."
