Year 5 Greek Week
This term in year 5 our topic is ancient Greece. On the 18th of April 2016 our grand Greek week began!
We have been learning about the food to the amusement, from the gods and goddess to Peloponnesian war. It was a truly amazing week and everyone enjoyed it!
Harry Cable says " Greek week was so much fun. It was like I had a blast from the past, I even tasted Greek food (I was even elected as part of the democracy)."
Thomas Henry said" The activities were sensational and were packed with excitement. We all got to declare war."
Lucy Burd quoted "being a women in Athens and making and chopping food was too much fun."
Tom Y: "I enjoyed the theatre workshop on Greek Day because we had the opportunity to make our own masks and we were able to act out some Greek myths".
Joanna "I liked making the shields because we got to put the Greek alphabet on them"
Josie: "I liked cutting up the food for the banquet! The women often prepared the food in Ancient Greece (as well as eating it!)"
Laura: "My favourite part was the Pollespesian war because it was fun and really really funny!"
Charlie "On Greek Day, at the end of the polleponeian war we had a royal feast to celebrate Sparta's triumph!"
Here are some of the photos from our Greek Day, from our theatre workshop to making shields to recreating the Peloponnesian war!
