    24th October 2025

    Dear Parents and carers,

What a brilliant week it’s been at Clatford! I want to start by saying how incredibly proud I am of our Year 5 children who, as I write this, are packing up ready to return from their residential trip to Hooke Court. Their enthusiasm, teamwork and courage throughout the visit were a real credit to them and to our school. Thank you to all the staff who supported the trip and made it such a memorable experience.

    Pride of Andover

On Wednesday evening, our very own Mrs. Walkom was honoured with a Pride of Andover, Heart of Gold award.  This recognition celebrates her outstanding compassion and dedication to our school community, going far beyond her role as business manager. Whether it’s supporting families, comforting children, or quietly making sure everything runs smoothly behind the scenes, Mrs. Walkom is always ready to help. Here at school, we are so proud of her and thrilled that her incredible contribution has been recognised.

    500 Words

Please make sure the entries to your 500 words competition come in the first week after half-term. We have all been very impressed by the entries so far but want to make this our biggest year yet for writing at Clatford.

    Open Morning

We held an open morning this week for our September 2026 intake. I must mention our Year 6s who led the school tours with impressive articulation, enthusiasm, courtesy and kindness. I had so many wonderful comments from parents who had been impressed by your helpful children.

    Next Week

Looking ahead to the next half-term, we have a wonderful array of events and trips planned that promise to enrich our children’s learning and bring joy to our community. Year 3 will be attending Orchestra Unwrapped at The Anvil, and Year 4 will visit Ufton Court. We also have Anti-Bullying Week, and the Bookfair to look forward to. Year 6 will explore the Steam Museum, and the whole school will enjoy a festive trip to the Panto at The Anvil in December. There is definitely a lot to look forward to.

I hope you all get a chance to rest and recharge. Wishing you peace and joy over half-term.

    Mr M Kirk
