Dear Parents and carers,

 

Thank you all for your attendance at the school parent’s evenings this week. I know the whole team enjoyed the chance to catch up with you about the children.

 

Community Poppies

The local churches are asking if anyone is able to make knitted, crocheted or sewn poppies for a display around the arches of the churches. If anyone can contribute any of those as part of our community’s remembrance, then please could you drop them at school after half-term.

 

Wildflowers

Our school eco-council visited harmony woods last week to take part in some community wildflower planting. Andover Trees had organised a fantastic morning with the children, and they all came back very excited about what might grow as a result. Later on, this term, Year 4 will be visiting the woods to plant the trees they have been looking after since the start of Year 3.

 

500 Words

When talking about the 500 words project in our school the children were very excited to tell us all their ideas for writing. These do need to be in the week after half-term so I thought it might be a good time to remind you all in case your children were interested. We’d love to see lots of entries from Clatford School.

 

Harvest

Thank you for all your Harvest donations last week. The food bank has picked them up and they wanted me to pass on their heartfelt thanks as they really do make a difference.

 

Secondary School Applications for Year 6

A little reminder that the closing date for secondary school applications is on Friday 31^st October. Please make sure you have applied before the closing date.

 

Year R applications for September 2026

If you have a child starting school in September 2026, the online application process will open on Saturday 1^st November and will close on Thursday 15^th January 2026.

 

Next Week

Next week on Monday, school will be closed for our second INSET Day this year. Please see the list of dates at the bottom of this newsletter for all of the remaining INSET days this year if you haven’t already got them in your diary.

 

On Wednesday our Year 5s go on their residential trip to Hooke Court. I am looking forward to hearing all about their adventures.

 

On Friday we have a PTA bake-sale, uniform-sale and non-uniform day. If you have any bits of uniform, you need to replace it is definitely worth coming and grabbing a pre-loved bargain.
