    26th September 2025

    Dear Parents and carers,

The first term of the year is where we think about love in action, and how our actions can show love to others. I have seen some brilliant gymnastics and dance routines from Year 5 and 6 this week and have also enjoyed listening to Singing Club start back up. We really do have some fantastic singers at our school. The new school council also met for the first time this week, so well done to all of them.

    Photos

Please remember that on Wednesday next week your child will be having their individual and sibling photographs taken by our school photographer. If your child has PE that day, please could you send them in normal uniform instead of PE uniform. Mr. Bennett has asked if Year 5 could please bring their PE uniforms to school in a separate bag that day, so they can get changed in the afternoon.

    Parking

In order to keep our children safe could I please ask you to be careful how you park your cars in the morning and afternoon, being careful to avoid junctions and observe all road-markings, such as double-yellow lines. Getting this wrong can mean poor visibility for parents and young children when crossing roads and could lead to people being seriously injured. Please park further away, rather than risk a child being hurt.

    PTA AGM

A big thank you to those who attended the PTA AGM this week. Last year the PTA raised an exceptional amount for the school between the different events they hosted throughout the year. I know everyone here is very grateful for everything they continue to do. The non-uniform day, bake sale and uniform sale will be held as usual on the last Friday of this half term.

    Punctuality

Although the school gates stay open until 8:55am, we would like you to try your hardest to get the children to school by 8:45am. The teachers have early morning activities set up which can include consolidation activities and SEN interventions. Missing these consistently can have a potentially big impact on learning. We know that sometimes being late is unavoidable, however, we want to ensure these occasions remain the exception rather than the rule. As always, anyone arriving after 9am will be marked as late in the register.

    Dinosaurs

Year 5 have been learning about fossils this week and have been investigating them by using clay imprints. In less than a month, they will be able to continue their studies as part of their residential visit to Hooke Court.

Hoping you all have a happy and restful weekend.

    Mr M Kirk
