    4th July 2025

    Dear Parents and carers,

The school has a lot to be grateful for as we approach the end of our Summer Term in 2025.

    Colour Run

The PTA organised a fantastic ‘Colour Run’ and fete at the weekend. It was a brilliant spectacle to see the children enjoying themselves as they encountered the obstacles and were covered in paint. It was great to see this so well attended, which made for a wonderful atmosphere for the whole event. I know that we also had lots of helpers on Saturday and Sunday who gave up their time to ensure this ran smoothly, so a big thank you from all of us at school. A great way to finish a year of successful PTA events.

    Porridge

Our Key Stage 2 children put on a show at the lights this week. Like many of you, I loved seeing the children enjoying themselves whilst demonstrating their many talents. It was an exciting, funny and uplifting show that really demonstrated the dedication and skill of all of the cast and crew. The Year 6s really excelled themselves with their ability to entertain (and ad lib in a few cases) and I know that thanks to them, I will still be humming those songs to myself for many more months to come.

As promised, here is a link to some photographs of the event:

    Dance Show

Myself and other staff in school were invited to watch a sneak preview of the Clatford Dance Club’s routine, which they then went on to perform on Saturday at the Integr8 dance competition. Our hardworking children earned a trophy for ‘Best Concept’ and I received an email from the organisers this morning who commented that the children were ‘excellent representatives for their school.’

    Next week

Good luck to Year 6 this Sunday, as they are leaving for their school residential to Osmington Bay. Meanwhile, Year 4 will be camping on the school field next Friday in tents they will be putting up themselves. Hopefully we will have some good weather for it!

Next week we have a transition afternoon on Thursday where children will be able to meet their new class teacher and spend some time in their new classrooms for September. Mr. Deery will also be joining us for the afternoon. I know that he is very much looking forward to it.

Wishing you a peaceful and happy weekend,

    Mr M Kirk
