    12th June 2025

    Dear Parents and carers,

This is an early newsletter this week as I knew that tomorrow would be a busy one with Sports Day.

    Cricket

Our school cricket team played on Monday and the reports I have back from Mr. Murphy were highly positive. The children worked well as a team, listened to their coaching and showed determination and Clatford courage. They also managed to win the event, which was a fantastic achievement. They are now through to the County Finals. I would like to say a big thank you the parents who helped on the day and to Mr Hayward in particular, who offered the children some additional coaching prior to the event. Well done to them all.

    Next Year

I would like to share with you which teachers will be teaching in which classes when we come back in September, so that you know who your child’s next teacher will be. We have a transition day later in the term where children get a chance to spend some time with their new teacher and see their new classrooms before the Summer.

Year R: Mrs Carr, Mrs Jordan and Mrs Deery

Year 1: Mrs. Britten supported by Mrs McIntyre

Year 2: Mrs Armstrong and Mrs Woodman supported by Mrs Hardiman-James and Mrs Ward

Year 3: Mrs Isaac and Mrs Woodman supported by Mrs Harding

Year 4: Mr Deery supported by Mrs Batterson and Mrs Borrett

Year 5: Mr Bennet supported by Mrs Proud and Mr Walkom

Year 6: Mrs Coles supported by Mrs Harding

We think this gives us a really strong team going into next year and I know that all the teachers are already looking forward to meeting their new cohorts.

When Mrs Jordan goes on maternity leave, Mrs. Carr will do an additional day (Thursday) and Mrs. Deery will become the teacher on a Friday supported by Mr Walkom. We will be recruiting shortly to find someone to cover Mrs Woodman when she goes on maternity leave.

    Sports Day

Sports day should be a fun and enjoyable event for the whole community. I love the fact that the whole school has a chance to come together to cheer each other on and cheer for their house team. Please remember to bring a chair with you if you would like somewhere to sit. Please also remember not to call your children over to see you during the event. At the end of this event, Y2,3,4,5 and 6 will be able to collect their children from classroom doors. YR and Y1 will be able to collect from the usual place. The teachers will just need a few moments after the event to ensure the children have their things and they are ready to leave safely.

    Cuppa with SENCO

Our last ‘Cuppa with SENCO’ event this year is coming up on Thursday 19th June at 3:30pm. The theme is transitions, which makes sense given its timing in the year. Please do take the opportunity to come and chat to Mrs. Armstrong and join us for a cup of tea after school.

    Class Photos

Next week we have class photos on Tuesday 17th June. If your child normally has PE on this day, please come to school in full school uniform and bring PE kit in a separate bag.

Wishing you all a peaceful and happy weekend,

    Mr M Kirk
