    22nd November 2024

    Dear Parents and carers,

Clatford children never fail to amaze and this week Year 5&6 have definitely done just that during our open mornings. Their enthusiasm and commitment have truly showcased the spirit of our school, with their excellent and articulate descriptions of their experiences at Clatford. Mrs. Coles also commented about how well they engaged on their school trip to the Steam Museum this week. As a class, they have really shone.

Additionally, I wish to extend my thanks to the PTA for organising the disco. It was a great chance for children to show off their best dance moves and I know the children I spoke to had a fantastic time.

I just wanted to put out a reminder about our timings in the morning. The school gates open at 8:45 am, and we begin the school day with the register at 8:50 am. Our staff will be present on the gate until 8:55am but after that, they need to get back to classes to be with the children, meaning after this time you will need to bring children up to the office. Please note that any students arriving after 9:00 am will be marked in the register as late.

The deadline for consent and payment for the Pantomime is Friday 29th November. Please pay and consent online via your Arbor account. If you are having any issues using Arbor, please contact the school office.

Mrs. Coles and I would like to extend our thanks to all of the children who put forward entries to the ‘500 Words’ writing competition. It is great to see the children showcase their writing talents and get involved with a national competition. We find out the results of the competition in February.

Could I remind you to name all hats, gloves and scarves before sending them to school. We have already found quite a few lost ones around the building and we do try and return them quickly if we can see a name. We would also like to remind you that we go outside at lunchtimes and, in this weather particularly, all children do need to bring a coat.

Don’t forget that next week is our Christingle service on Friday, so if you wish to return any donations you have made to the Children’s Society, you should aim to do so before this date. Please return any empty ones too.

I also wanted to remind you that Monday 2nd December is an INSET day.

May peace be with you all,

    Mr M Kirk
