    8th November 2024

    Dear Parents and carers,

I want to start by saying well done to our girl’s football team who, Mr. Murphy tells me, showed valiant sportsmanship in their tournament on Wednesday afternoon where they came fourth. Congratulations girls.

Thank you to all of you who came and supported the bake sale and uniform sale before half-term. It was great to have so many cakes donated and all that uniform go to good homes.

The food bank has written to us this week for collecting a grand total of 92.63Kg worth of food items in support of local people. They wanted me to let everyone know what an incredible difference it can make to many people who need help at the moment.

Thank you to all of you who sent children in their different organisation’s uniforms on Friday. I had a brilliant time at lunchtime hearing from the children about all the work they have done to earn particular badges. Thank you to Padre Coles for leading us in a service of remembrance.

On Friday we have our Children in Need day. If they would like to, your child is welcome to attend school wearing a Children In Need accessory. This is by no means mandatory! The children will be participating in some related educational activities throughout the day, including some Pudsey orienteering on our new course.

The Royal Oak, who continue to let us use parts of their car park in the morning, are now selling coffee and croissants from Wednesday to Friday from 8:30am. I have noticed that some people have already benefited from this facility, so in the interest of community spirit I thought I would spread the word.

Next week at school we have the book fair arriving. This will be held in the school library from 3:30pm-4:00pm on the following dates:

    Wednesday 13th November

    Thursday 14th November

    Monday 18th November

The Children will be coming home this afternoon with their school photograph. Please keep an eye out for them.

You should also see an update from the PTA with this email. Thank you to the PTA for their continued support.

    May peace be with you,

    Mr M Kirk
