27th September
27th September 2024
This week in school we have been trying to promote the concept of gentleness as part of our value of love. We have been thinking about how to show love to others with gentle words and actions. We have also been looking at little things that make a difference, such as opening the door for someone, or letting someone else go first at taking a turn.
Next week we have a few things going on at school including Harvest Festival on the Wednesday and an INSET day on the Friday. As always, if you are free to do so, you are more than welcome to join us for the Harvest Festivals on Wednesday. Year R and KS1 starts at 10am at St. Peters Church and KS2 will begin at 1:45pm. Photographs are not allowed during these services, as we do see them as acts of worship.
I had a really exciting meeting with Mrs. Budd this morning, the new Chair of your Clatford PTA. A huge thank you to all the parents who attended the committee meeting this week. I know that the PTA will be communicating with you over the coming weeks to share some of their plans as well as how you can help.
The next Cuppa with the Senco is on the 24th October at 3.30pm-4.30pm in the school hall. Mrs. Armstrong will be talking about the SEN register, IEPs, smart targets and EHCPS. It is open to everyone, but please could you let us know if you are intending to come. We want to make sure we have enough tea and coffee for all. There is already another one booked in for the 12th September and at this one, the Primary Behaviour Service will be in attendance. Mrs. Armstrong will be arranging some in school childcare for this, as the talk is not suitable for children to attend.
Hello Yellow Day is also coming up, which is where we raise awareness of children’s mental health with some activities in school. On that day, could I ask that anyone who wishes to join in, chooses a yellow element to add to their school uniform that day. It could be a bow, a cardigan, a baseball cap, some trainers or even a fluorescent jacket.
Wishing you a safe and peaceful weekend,
Mr M Kirk
