7th February 2025
Dear Parents and carers,
This week a lot of children have been talking about mental-health and in our worships we have been thinking about how to celebrate our uniqueness through the book ‘Super-Duper-Me.’
There have been trips to SeaCity Museum (Y1 – History of the Titanic), Fishbourne Roman Palace (Y3 – Romans) and Southampton Art Gallery (Y4 – Pop Art), and I have particularly enjoyed hearing all the wonderful facts the children have returned with. I know that on some of those trips, we have had a lot of volunteer helpers so I would like to say a big thank you to all of you who gave up your time to support.
Some of our book ambassadors also went on a trip this week, to choose new books for their classes and the school and I know they came back with an impressive haul of new books for us all to enjoy.
KS2 have been visited by an author (Peter Murray) and lots of them have been inspired with both their reading (I have seen lots of his books on desks this week) and also with their writing, as they shape the narratives of their own stories.
I can also see that this afternoon, Mrs. Jordan has organised a nurse to visit Year R, which looks very exciting, as they learn to look after themselves and others.
I wanted to shout out and say well done to Jack in Year 5 who managed to win a gold medal at the South-West Tae Kwon-Do tournament. A truly impressive achievement Jack, well done.
The PTA met this week and I have attached a flyer from them as well, with further information about upcoming PTA events.
Wishing you all a restful weekend,
Yours sincerely,
Mr M Kirk
