Clatford School hosts Schools Direct ICT Training
Today, our school was joined by 30 teaching students from the Anton Andover Alliance where they were given opportunities to see the different ways that primary aged children can develop their ICT skills. They talked to Malaysian teaching students using google hangouts; programmed life-sized robots; participated in 'hour of code'; were given tours of the school; played programmable board games; developed their understanding of the national computing requirements and were able to develop their knowledge of the Scratch programming language.
For most of the day they were helped by our talented Year 6s who were their teachers for many of the activities and supported them all day as part of the training. Many teaching students commented on the way out about how confident, polite, intelligent and well spoken the children were that had helped them were. A rewarding day for everyone.
