Sports Leaders

At Clatford we have a mix of Year 5 and Year 6 Sports Leaders as part of our sports provision and pupil voice. Sports Leaders have the opportunity to meet and share their ideas about sports in the school.  Our Clatford Sports Leaders help to organise events such as Sports Day and Sports relief. The children share their ideas about clubs and out of school festivals/competitions.

 

Sports leaders are trained at the beginning of the year to lead activities and games with younger children and are taught important qualities that are needed when working with young people. This role develops important values such as patience, friendship, compassion and kindness.

 

Sports Leaders are invited to apply in writing at the start of each academic year when they start year 5, children chosen will be sports leaders for two years. In their application they write stating why they think they would be the best person for the job and most importantly, why they want to be one.
