Our school seeks to reflect the Christian understanding that we are all God’s people and believes that through Him everyone matters.
As part of our wider community, we will endeavour to nurture outstanding standards of excellence, in both our learning and our citizenship, through a curriculum that is exciting and inspirational.
We will encourage all those within our care to become part of a happy and safe environment where mutual respect, co-operation and responsibility are encouraged and valued.
The school's Christian values are at the core of everything we do at Clatford School and through them we seek to develop children's well-being, learning and spirituality. Our three core values are love, respect and belief and these were chosen by children and parents of the school as being the most important values when it came to reflecting our character, ethos and aims as a school.
As well as these core values we also learn about many of their distinctive aspects using our values trees which you can find by clicking the links below.
Equal Opportunities and Inclusion for All
We are fully committed to providing a fully accessible environment that values and includes all pupils, staff, parents and visitors regardless of their educational, physical, social and cultural needs. We are further committed to challenging attitudes about disability and accessibility and to developing a culture of awareness, tolerance and inclusion. We want children to feel valued, be secure and confident in themselves. The schools equality policies are available on request.
Gifted and Talented Children
We want all children to excel and show their potential so work is planned by the teachers to extend children in their thinking through open-ended, investigative activities and an enriched curriculum delivery. Our children are encouraged to set their own questions, make links and extend their learning to achieve high standards. Staff track children closely to ensure good progress is being made. Our talented children are given many opportunities to show their talent in Sport, Music, Art and other areas. Wherever we spot a talent we will try to make a link with other providers to further enhance the opportunities for our children.
Clatford is a fully inclusive school. Children who are experiencing difficulties with their learning are quickly identified and provided with individual education programmes (IEPs) to address their needs. At the first sign of a problem, it is our school's policy to collaborate with you the parent. Children are given support by the Class teacher, Special Needs Coordinator (SENCo) and a team of Teaching Assistants. Differentiated learning and intervention strategies are tailored to address specific needs with focused assessments giving a more in-depth picture.
