Children are growing up in a digital world where the use of computers permeate almost every layer of our society. At Clatford school we recognise that a knowing about the uses of computers; understanding how computers function; developing an understanding of algorithmic thinking and ensuring our children are given the confidence and knowledge to use ICT resources safely for life are all essential to the overall wellbeing and future economic success of every child.

We aim for children to be leave our school with a love of computing; a confidence with the application of computers to work with presentations, databases, spreadsheets, documents and publications; a safe knowledge of how to interact efficiently and productively with the world wide web across a variety of curriculum areas; an understanding of how computers are used in the wider world; a use of technical computing vocabulary and structures as set out in the National Curriculum and the skills they need to adapt all of that thinking for use in an ever changing world.
