Emergency information

This is where we will display any emergency information such as school closures due to inclement weather

A decision as to whether the school is open or not is based on a number of factors including how many staff I have and health and safety conditions on the premises.  If we have to do an emergency school closure all the information will be found on our website.  We will also put a message out to the local radio stations who will have all the updated information these include The Breeze, BBC Radio Solent, and Heart.  Alternatively you can log on to  http://www.hants.gov.uk/education/schoolclosures/  where it will list all schools closed in this area.  We will also try to send parentmail texts, so please make sure you have registered and that all your new mobile numbers are on parentmail.   

Homework Programme

At Clatford we believe that homework is important for children's development but are also aware that the children will have different capabalities for this at different stages of the school. The homework timetable has therefore been designed with this in mind and the volume of home-learning that is set will build as a child moves through the school. This is in order to best support the children's learning at their age-level and is also a useful transition tool so that by the time they are ready to leave for secondary school, homework is already an important part of the their routine.
