SEND

Special Educational Needs & Disability Information

Our teacher in charge of Special Educational Needs (SENCo) is Mrs Carr. Mrs Carr has a significant amount of experience with SEN having had the role for many years. As a school we work very closely with a number of agencies in order to secure the best possible outcomes for our children with special needs.

Our SEN Information Report can be found below, as can our other policies relating to SEND. The report sets out our provision for pupils with SEN and gives you an overview of what we do here at Clatford.

You can find out further information about Special Education Need and Disabilities in Hampshire (the Local Offer) on their website: https://fish.hants.gov.uk/kb5/hampshire/directory/localoffer.page

If you are a prospective parent and wish to discuss your child's needs with Mrs Carr then please contact the school office. Mrs Carr carries out her SENCo work on a Thursday morning.

Inclusion

Equal Opportunities and Inclusion for All

We are fully committed to providing a fully accessible environment that values and includes all pupils, staff, parents and visitors regardless of their educational, physical, social and cultural needs. We are further committed to challenging attitudes about disability and accessibility and to developing a culture of awareness, tolerance and inclusion. We want children to feel valued, be secure and confident in themselves. The schools equality policies are available on request.

Additional Needs

Clatford is a fully inclusive school. Children who are experiencing difficulties with their learning are quickly identified and provided with individual education programmes to address their needs. At the first sign of a problem, it is our school's policy to collaborate with you the parent. Children are given support by the Class teacher, Special Needs Coordinator (SENDCo) and a team of Teaching Assistants. Differentiated learning and intervention strategies are tailored to address specific needs with focused assessments giving a more in-depth picture.
