14th November 2025
Dear Parents and carers,
Happy Kindness Day today! We have been talking to the children about celebrating all the ways they show kindness in our school. We have shared some lovely ideas of how we can show kindness to others.
JRSOs
The Junior Road Safety Officers have come to me this week to ask if we could all choose something bright to add to our uniforms next Friday. They will also be talking to the whole school in one of our worships next week. They have written the following:
“Dear parents, we are here to tell you that we, the JRSO, are going to tell your children about road safety. We may show them videos about crossing roads, not wearing bright colours at night and bike safety. We are also going to be asking them to make a poster. The brighter the better!”
School Caretaking
I have been at Clatford School for over 20 years now but there are still a few members of the team who have worked here even longer than that. Mr. Prentice has been our school caretaker for over two decades now and has decided that it is time to retire at Christmas. We know you will join us in wishing him the best of luck.
This does mean that we are currently seeking a new caretaker to join our team from January, for 3 hours a day. If you know of anyone who may be interested, please get in contact and let us know.
Book Fair
Thank you to those of you who have visited the book fair so far. Don’t forget Monday 17th November will be the last day.
Open Morning
We had a busy open morning this week and met some lovely new families. Once again there were many comments about how friendly, polite and engaged all of your children were. Thank you!
School Disco
A big thank you to all of the PTA committee members, parents and staff who helped at the disco last night. I could tell the children really enjoyed letting their hair down and giving it their all on the dance floor.
Ufton Court
I have heard from Year 4 all about their visit to Ufton Court this week and have heard about their encounters with the Vikings. Thank you to those parents who helped on the trip as we really couldn’t run all of our visits without your willingness to support.
SENCO Cuppa
Mrs. Armstrong has arranged for the school nurse to come in for her next SENCO cuppa. This will take place on the 4th of December at 2:30pm and anyone in the school is welcome to attend.
May peace be with you,
Mr M Kirk
