Letter 25th April 2025
25th April 2025
Dear Parents and carers,
It may have been a shorter week this week, but there have been some big highlights.
Dolce Dinners
Well done to everyone for using the SchoolGrid System this week to order dinners. From our point of view the transition went well and there have been very few niggles. When I have eaten the lunches this week, and talked to the children about theirs, I have been impressed by the quality and quantity of the food that has been offered to the children. Please can I remind you all to pre-order your child’s meals and cancel meals if your child is absent or you will still be charged.
Dandelion Day
Thank you to everyone that supported Dandelion Day by wearing yellow or by bringing some money for the bake sale. A particularly big thank you to the representatives from our armed forces who volunteered to come to school and be interviewed by over 200 children on Wednesday. I think the event raised quite a lot of awareness around the school and raised some money for Little Troopers as well. £147 in total.
Easter Experience
The children were at the church yesterday to have a chance to experience the different parts of the Easter Story. They were very respectful as they completed their spiritual tours around St. Peter’s and Revd. Teresa commented on how impressed she had been at all the different prayers they had written. I have collated some pictures of the event on the last page of this letter.
Hillier’s Arboretum
Year R are off to Hillier’s Arboretum next week to engage in some outdoor activities for the day. I know that Mrs. Carr is looking forward to seeing them develop their understanding of how things grow. We look forward to sharing some photos with parents next week.
PTA
The PTA are having their jumble sale tomorrow at the Upper Clatford village hall from 1:30pm-3:30pm. If anyone can spare the time to support it, I know they would love to see you and hopefully you’ll be able to grab a bargain or two.
KS2 Play
If your child is new to KS2 you may not have realised that in the Summer Term we put on a KS2 play at The Lights Theatre. This is a great event, but does take some organisation as you can imagine. There are three performances consisting of a matinee on Monday 30th June and evening performances on Tuesday 1st and Wednesday 2nd July. On Monday 30th June, if you have a child in KS2, you will be asked to drop your children off at the Lights Theatre and pick them up from there at the end of the day, 3:15pm. There will be more details closer to the time, but I wanted to ensure you had this date in your diaries.
Year R – September 2025
If you have a younger child who has been offered a place in the school for September 2025, please could I ask you to confirm your place with your documents to the School office at some point before 30th April.
Wishing you all a restful weekend.
Mr M Kirk
