Dear Parents and carers,
I just wanted to write to you today to say well done to our amazing children.
Our school value focus this term is courage and since last week, following a school council suggestion, we have been looking at ‘enCOURAGEment’ in our school worships. It has been lovely to hear so many of our children being encouraging and supporting to each other.
I have spent the mornings this week, from Monday to Thursday, with the incredible Year 6 as they took their SATs. As I said last week, they have continued to shine with their determination, maturity and resilience. Everyone here at school is incredibly proud of how well they have risen to the challenge. Today, they have quite rightly been celebrating after their busy week.
I have also been wowed by lots of the things I have heard about the Year 5 residential. There were many challenges navigated, walls climbed, problems solved, obstacles overcome and kind words spoken. Well done to them all.
The PTA are organising a wacky hair day on Friday 14th June where the children can come to school with wacky hair in return for bringing in tombola items.
Next week at school is our music afternoon, where children from our school, parents and some talented John Hanson pupils are all coming together to put on a spectacular concert. Thank you Mrs. Isaac for organising it and thank to all of our volunteer performers.
Wishing you all a happy and peaceful weekend,
Mr M Kirk
