3rd September 2024
Dear Parents and carers,
Good afternoon and welcome back to school! The children were all looking smart and ready for school this morning and have made a really good start. We have loved having them back.
First of all, I wanted to invite any of you who would find it interesting, for a ‘Cuppa with the SENCO’ session, next Thursday 12th September at 2pm in our school hall. Mrs. Armstrong has arranged for presentations by Education Mental Health Practitioners to share the ‘basics’ about the local MHST (Mental Health Support Team) service. They will share some useful resources for primary age and answer any questions. A really useful opportunity to find out how to support your primary age children's mental health. If you would like to attend, please could you follow the link below and let us know by Friday 6th September.

I also wanted to let you know about a few building updates from over the summer. First of all, the gates and fences at the front of the school have all been modernised and made more secure. There is now a maglock system in place. Please press the button that it is situated on the grey box closes to the gate in order to be let in.
The Clatford boat, which was closed for safety reasons last year, has now been replaced by the Clatford Folly. We have been able to do this by raising money at events like the Colour Run earlier this year. We would like to thank you all for making this possible. The school council last year chose the final design. The children had a brilliant break time exploring the new equipment.
Thank you to Mrs Coles who came into school over the summer and transformed our library and computer space, we now have a much better area for reading and enjoying our books.
Finally, I just wanted to say a big welcome to all of our new starters this week. I have been into Year R this morning and the children all seemed to be settling brilliantly. We also have 2 new families starting in other year groups. As always, I know that you will help me in making sure that everyone starting this week feels exceptionally welcome within our Clatford family.
Yours Sincerely,
Mr M Kirk
