Online Safety Update
I have heard from our E-Safety council this week that some children are feeling worries at the moment about computer games, and in particular playing games online. Many children are confused about the things they are allowed or not allowed to do at home, and many have had stories about experiences that they found uncomfortable or worrying.
I wanted to remind everyone they could find advice about many online safety issues on our 'Parents' section of the website. We have just uploaded a new document with some advice about children who play video games which I thought was interesting and definitely worth a read.
Our E-safety council have also sent a survey out this week to find out more about how our children at school use computers. It is a changing world and only by working with our children on this will we stand a chance of keeping up with it! Please could you help us out by filling it in if you get a chance. We are intending to have another e-safety workshop at school soon and it would be a helpful way of letting me know of any worries you have in particular so I can make sure I built that into our meeting.
Thanks for your help in this. I know that between home and school our children are very lucky with the consistent messages they receive and whenever I ask a child what to do if they feel worried online ... the response is overwhelmingly reassuring. It can be a confusing and scary world online but between us all we are doing a good job!
