Wimbledon Afternoon
Wimbledon Afternoon!
Here at Clatford, we love our sport and have shown how much we enjoy incorporating sport into our learning!
Our tennis themed afternoon included 6 activities based around the tradition annual event.
Watching Wimbledon on BBC- We learned how tennis was scored and watched some live matches.
Designing a healthy diet for a tennis player- drawing a breakfast, lunch, dinner and snack for an athlete. The older children thought about a balanced diet including carbohydrates, fats and protein.
Tennis Maths challenges- We solved many maths activities, ranging from Year R colouring court challenge all the way through to KS2 calculating winner's earnings!
Designing our own tennis wear- We thought tennis wear should be multi-coloured with symbols and pictures, so we designed our own men's and women's tennis wear.
Sporting Values banner- We think values are important in our school, so we thought about values in sport and created a huge banner with them all on which will be hung up to encourage us on Sports Day.
Playing Tennis- After all the activities, we were able to hold our own matches, learn new skills and play tennis with a friend. Lots of us coached the younger pupils and helped them.
The children had a wonderful afternoon. Here at Clatford we definitely enjoy being part of a team!
