Excellent Egyptians
Thu 24 Nov 2016This week Year 5 had a visit from the excellent Egyptians. They learned about the discoveries of Napoleon. Different menus were built using ancient recipes. Children became archaeologists as they literally dug in the sand to discover ancient artefacts to identify. They practiced writing with Egyptian reed pens and even became doctors (with all of the gruesome things they had to do) and 'costumed up' to heal their friends. Patricia from Creative Histories was marvellous at harnessing the children's curiosity. James from Class 5 said "it was the best day of Year 5 so far because I was able to learn anything I could ever think of about the Egyptians." -
Learning about the Nile
Thu 10 Nov 2016Over half term Year 5 worked really hard to produce some work about the river Nile. We had presentations, videos, dioramas, fact-files, poems and even a song. The children then showed them off in their very own Nile museum. Here are some of the picture. If you would like to see the documentary that Emily made then head to the Class 5 page.
