  • Stagecoach coach KS2

    Tue 25 Sep 2018 M Kirk and Mrs Oliver-Hawkins

A big thank you to Stagecoach yesterday for coming in to teach us some singing, dancing and drama. The children all enjoyed their time as performers from the Greatest Showman and Year 5 even put on an end of day performance for Year R and Year 1. Afterwards the children were all invited to a free taster session with Stagecoach in October. Look out for the letters in book bags this week!

  • Mathletics National Hero

    Mon 24 Sep 2018 M Kirk
Some of our pupils have been working really hard with their Maths learning over the weekend and I have been staggered by just how committed they have been to their own learning. One girl from Year 4 (Shaylee) even managed to achieve Rank 16 nationally through her hard-work, dedication and great developing Maths skills. She definitely throws down the gauntlet for the rest of us this week. I wonder if anybody else will get into the top 100? I wonder if we will ever see a Clatford child in the Mathletics top 10? Well done everyone and keep up the good work. Please come and show me and shout about it if you feel proud of your own Mathletics!
  • Peace Day

    Fri 21 Sep 2018 M Kirk
Today has been a day of peace. Children have been learning what peace means, how they can find peace themselves and what peace might look like to different people. We have been making doves of peace as a school and we have each been having a special peaceful moment in our school spiritual garden. May peace be with you all today.
  • Year 4 visit to the Great Hall

    Wed 19 Sep 2018 Mrs Oliver-Hawkins
A wonderful day! Full write up from the class to follow!
  • Gardening club get to work!

    Fri 14 Sep 2018 Mrs Oliver-Hawkins
Clatford's gardening club were straight back to work this week to create the next stage of our new garden area.  After six weeks off, the vegetable raised beds were in need of some serious clearing! Luckily, the marvellous crew were ready and willing.  They particularly enjoyed feasting on their wonderful crop of tomatoes!  We have had some fantastic news, due to your fabulous support we have received £300 from the green tokens at Leckford Farm shop.  We are really excited to purchase a wormery and water butt, as well as some new hand tools, in order to make our area really sustainable.  We will keep you all updated...
  • Welcome Back

    Fri 14 Sep 2018 M Kirk

Welcome back to everyone after the Summer! It has been a hugely positive and busy first few weeks with the children. The children have all created their classroom charters to start the new term and new representatives have been chosen from each year group to sit on the school council, which will be meeting soon.  We have been reminding ourselves of the meaning behind our school logo that we all wear and what it says about us as members of the Clatford Primary School community.

We have been celebrating this term's value which is LOVE and Titus (our spirituality tortoise) has been out and about working with the children and helping them reflect on their spirituality. I am also delighted to report that our new Year R started this week and have all made fantastic starts as they start on their journey through our school. We know it is a very special time.

We hope you all had a fantastic Summer and want to thank you all for your continued support of our school.

    Welcome back!

  • O2 Young Voices

    Thu 13 Sep 2018 M Kirk

All the teachers and children are incredibly excited about the O2 this year, which is our chance to take part in a huge concert with schools from across the country. The children who are going have already started their practice and, as is always the case at Clatford, have risen to the challenge of all the new songs. Many of which were quite familiar. There is a link below if, like me, you would like a bit of extra practice or would just like a chance at home for an extra singalong or two. You're welcome!
