Christmas Experience Day
Thu 20 Dec 2018On Tuesday 18th December the whole school walked up to St Peter’s church for the annual Christmas Experience day. The day was organised into different locations in the church and each one explored a theme around the nativity story.
The children loved the day and shared their ideas in a whole school worship back at school, at the end of the day!

Sprouts, Sprouts and More Sprouts
Thu 13 Dec 2018In Year One English, in the lead up to Christmas, they have used the video “Sprout Boy” to inspire their writing. This week they've watched the video and have been considering the vocabulary choices and learning about rhyme.
Today they had the chance to taste sprouts, to decide whether their poem would be about loving sprouts or hating them! The children were brilliant and nearly all of them tried a sprout, some of them didn't enjoy them but many of them were surprised when they liked them and even went back for a second!

Egyptian Day
Thu 13 Dec 2018"How did Ancient Egypt have an impact on life in Modern Britain today?"
Our archaeologists in Year 5 have been visited by an Ancient Egyptian today and have been asking her questions to find out just that. It is only 10am and already we have learned about clothing; food; jewellery; artefacts and all about who wiped Pharaoh's bottom! In school, every question counts! I'll continue adding photos on our media section as the day goes on!

We even learned about a new burial chamber uncovered just a few weeks ago, helping us learn more and more about this ancient civilisation.

Fire Service
Tue 11 Dec 2018On Tuesday 11th December we were lucky enough to have the fire service come to visit us in Year One. We spent the morning in class with them playing games and learning about how to keep ourselves safe. After break we had the chance to visit the fire engine and have a go at putting out a fire! We thoroughly enjoyed ourselves and particularly enjoyed spraying Miss Bridgman!
