  • Make Your Own Kind of Music

    Mon 30 Mar 2020 M Kirk

A few weeks ago, the children recorded some really lovely singing. I hope to release these on the website, one every few weeks, to remind us all of how amazing Clatford is when we all stand together. If you feel like a sing together, then turn on this video at exactly 10am on Friday morning, turn up the volume, and lets all sing it at the same time.

You might even hear someone singing the same thing in the distance!

Whether you join us or not, we hope you enjoy the recording as much as we did!

  • Sharing love with our local community

Wed 25 Mar 2020 Mrs Lundie

    Dear Children,

I am writing to you all to thank you, for the love and compassion, support and trust in our values, that you showed last week- in what were some very strange and difficult times. We all showed that by coming together and uniting as one, we could be strong!

You all helped me to share this message with our local community, through the wonderful songs we recorded; letters, cards and pictures we created, to send out to those who may need our love and thoughts, during this difficult time. I managed to send over 200 envelopes with you well wishes out to our community.

Well, today at school, there were letters in response! Hand written letters from a lady of 95years in Andover Nursing Home and another from a couple from the village- self-isolating due to ill health. They were blown away by your words of compassion and encouragement and loved that you had taken the time to think of others. One couple have even donated a sum of money to our school, to say 'thank you' and help us to continue helping you with your learning when we all come back together. We are quite blown away by their kindness in return and it just goes to show that with a little kindness, we can fill the buckets of others and ourselves!

So thank you! I am so proud of you all! What a wonderful message to share in such challenging times.

Take care of yourselves and continue to show love and compassion to each other. A little kindness goes a long way.

    Love

    Mrs Lundie

  • World Book Day

    Thu 05 Mar 2020 Mrs Oliver-Hawkins
What a fabulous day we have all had. It has been so lovely to see, on a wet and windy day, so many children and adults alike smiling and chatting, sharing their love of books.  The school has been buzzing with children reading to each other and shuffling around the school in their slippers and snuggly dressing gowns. Amongst children reading to each other in different year groups, we have also been blessed with huge number of parents joining us to read their favourite books to the children.  We are all so grateful for our local community coming together to celebrate the joy of books. The day finished with a wonderful candle lit bedtime reading of Wind in the Willows. I'm sure the children loved today as much as I did!
